Zip-Front Hoodie
Pattern Description from Knit So Fine: “Fitted and feminine, this lightly cabled hoodie is comfortable without being sloppy. The body is worked in one piece from the lower edge to the armhole, with waist shaping hidden in the cable pattern for a streamlined seamless look, then the fronts and back (and sleeves) are worked separately to the shoulders. The cotton/silk-blend yarn is equally welcome at the beach on summer evenings and indoors on cool winder days.”
Finished Size: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48)“ (81.5 91.5, 101.5, 112, 122 cm) bust circumference, zipped.
Yarn: Sportweight (#2 Fine). Zitron Kokon (35% silk, 35% cotton, 30% acrylic; 175 m/50 g): #22 light blue, 8 (9, 9, 10, 10) balls.
Needles: U.S. size 4 (3.5 mm): 24” (60 cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle; 22” (56 cm) separating zipper; sharp-point sewing needle; contrasting thread for basting zipper; matching thread for securing zipper.
Additional Gauge: 16-stitch cable panel measures 2” (5 cm) wide.
Notes:
- The body is worked in a single piece to the armholes, then the fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders.
- The 22” (56 cm) zipper should fit on all sizes. If it does not fit the front of your sweater exactly, ask your local fabric shop about having the zipper custom-shortened.
