This is a classic-styled cardigan for the boy or girl in your life. Knit in worsted weight yarn, it’s warm and cosy for the cooler weather, but light enough to fit under a jacket. Knit it in luxury yarns for a special occasion, or choose a machine-washable yarn for everyday play clothes.

There are options for the buttonholes to be on either the left (boys) or right (girls), and options for a simple turned hem and a picot edging, so it’s a very versatile pattern. Use two different solid colours, variegated with a plain, two subtle coordinating shades, more than two colours, scraps, or just knit it in one colour - the choices are many and it looks great in all of them!

There’s nothing too difficult in this pattern, but I’ve included a couple of increases which may be unfamiliar, so I’ve also made some short videos to help those who prefer to see them in action.

4Nov13: Often on patterns I find the caveat that knitters may not sell items made with the pattern. After a lot of thought and research I have decided that I don’t agree with this statement. I don’t believe that the designer has any rights over the finished product, so, if you’re handknitting and you want to sell items made from my patterns - Best of Luck, and Go For It! I think handknitting for a living must be quite a challenge, so you need all the luck I can give you. Of course, my rights DO cover the patterns themselves, so you mustn’t copy or distribute them.
