Both English and Japanese versions are fully charted using standard knitting and/or crochet symbols. Japanese version available here.

The pattern calls for Pierrot Zakka Wool for the upper part of the slipper and Pierrot Yuttari Acrylic for the sole. You will also need what the pattern calls “zori rope” (i.e., rope for making traditional zori sandals). The particular type the pattern calls for is 8mm thick polypropylene cord.

Tools/Materials:
* Japanese size 7/0 & 8/0 crochet hooks (4.0 & 5.0mm)

No gauge is given in the pattern.

Children’s slippers: Use 4.0mm hook for the upper part and 5.0mm hook for the rest. You’ll need approximately 30g of wool for the upper part and 20g of acrylic for the sole, plus 2 meters of cord for the sole.

Ladies’ slippers: Use 5.0mm hook for the upper part as well as the sole. You’ll need approximately 70g of wool for the upper part and 30g of acrylic for the sole, plus 6.5 meters of polypropylene cord for the sole.

Men’s slippers: Use 5.0mm hook for the upper part as well as the sole. You’ll need approximately 70g of wool for the upper part and 70g of acrylic for the sole, plus 6.5 meters of polypropylene cord for the sole.
