Winterside
This is a fun-to-wear sweater. Made out of 100% wool, it’s nice and warm, making it perfect to be sitting & knitting or out & about in the snow.
It’s a quick knit because the sleeves and the tops of the sweater are knit in one piece and then grafted together. Then the stitches are picked up around the waist and a fair isle band is knitted following a chart. The band of stranded knitting is a great way to learn to knit stranded patterns because it’s not too hard! Then the rest of the bottom is knitted downwards.
There is a significant amount of yardage because of the changing colors. For size XL/40”, it is possible that 1 skein may be sufficient; but it is recommended to buy a second skein available as “insurance”.
The front is not worked as wide as back. Fit is enhanced by the stretch of knit fabric. When deciding what size to make, be sure to check your waist measurement.
