Willy the Whale and the Splish-Splash Blanket
As a busy mom I love projects that are first of all functional. But who could resist the cute? Well, definitely not me, so I’ll do anything to combine both useful and cute whenever I can.
I wanted to make a whale: a big, whale plushie for my son to hug and play with. But he has already so many plushies that I thought I had to make this one usable somehow. I thought it might be a pillow, which was only a bit satisfactory, but I started to think about the materials and construction… The more I was pondering the whole concept, the more I wanted to make the whale a matching blanket, so that it could have its own little ocean. And then it occurred to me that I can actually save some space by stuffing the blanket into the whale! That finally convinced me to start working on the project.
Now, when it’s done I really like to put my sons toys in it. I guess he enjoys taking them out of it even more!
