Gradients: these soothing colorways flow gently into one another, giving your knitting a beautiful shaded effect. But sometimes you need to shake up the flow of things with a pop of color and texture.

Knit mostly in relaxing garter stitch, Wild Streak is a simple, soft, squishy scarf with a little added zing. Get creative with your contrast color, add fringe to match your stripes, and enjoy!

Wild Streak is knit sideways. You’ll need a long circular needle to accommodate the large number of stitches. Gauge is not super critical for this project, provided you get a fabric you like.

Sample knit in Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply Toes:

  • one Gradient Set, shown in Carina (cool grey)
  • one skein Floyd (hot pink)

Notions:
Crochet hook in a size similar to your needle size (E/3.5mm, for suggested crochet cast-on and attaching fringe), stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Instructions are provided to modify the length of the scarf and width or number of stripes.

The team at Miss Babs has also suggested a number of contrast colors that will pop nicely against the grey of Carina (and I’d love to see what people do with a variegated color for the chevron, too!):

  • Floyd

  • Gentian

  • Dahlia

  • Squash Blossom

  • Clematis

  • Ardor

  • Impatiens

  • Ghoulish

  • Indigo Bunting

  • Ladybug

  • French Marigold

  • Rainforest
