Wigget Socks
All proceeds from this pattern will be donated to the New Brunswick Heart Centre January 27 to February 3.
This pattern is inspired by a fun friends weekend and a historic house in the south of England. The Vyne is a 16th century house that has beautiful brickwork and columns holding up an impressive portico. Elements of this sock are refelections of the house which was once owned by the Wigget family. Slip stitches frame garter columns on the front of the sock with a lovely stockinette panel in the centre to show off your yarn. The back of the sock has a fun texture pattern.
The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a garter edged heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.
Written and charted instructions are included.
The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.
I used a skein of fingering weight main colour yarn and a 20g mini for the contrast. Thank you to Emma from Eldenwood Crafts for the yarn
Huge thanks to my test knitters Heather J, Rochelle, Leanne, Jenn, Alexa, Rosalyn and Heather E for their feedback, their speed and beautiful socks.
