Wherewithall Vest
This cozy vest can be knit with any weight yarn in any gauge suitable to that yarn. The super-friendly pattern uses your garter stitch swatch (in the yarn of your choice) and your own measurements to produce a vest that fits you beautifully.
It can be knit in any length, from cropped to tunic-length.You can cuff the sleeve caps or not for two different looks.
It’s a great way to use up stash if you want a multi-colored vest, and you can combine strands to create your own color gradients.
The pattern includes a vest for a standard 18” doll (like the American Girl Doll) as well as a Very Tiny Vest that is just plain fun to make (and can become an ornament). Imagine knitting a doll vest and with a matching vest for the doll’s caretaker…
In my workshops, knitters from very slender to beautifully plump have knit vests to fit and they all look and feel ravishing!
It’s an easy, peaceful project, all garter stitch (not a single purl), seamless, knit side to side. Your biggest challenge may be finding buttons worthy of your creation.
The pattern includes a yardage chart for all sizes and lengths. There’s even a coloring book page at the end so you can better visualize your color choices.
It’s a pattern designed to bring you great pleasure in the knitting and the wearing.
