This lacy summer accessory was inspired by a seaside holiday to the beautiful Cape Cod seashore. That trip included everything you might want: relaxing on the in the sun, getting sand between our toes, long walks looking for seals in the water, and a trip to the local drive-in. I hope that this cowl accompanies you on your summer adventures, giving your shoulders a bit of warmth as the sun sets and the tikki torches are lit.

This cowl is knit top-down and worked flat to facilitate easy blocking. The lace work will open up and look more beautifully composed if blocked aggressively (preferably with pins and/or wires). Then the cowl is seamed from the bottom upwards giving you the chance to try it on as you go and creating a personalized fit.

For a two color option, change color for Rows 5-8 of the pattern. You will need approximately 100-120 yards of an alternate color fingering weight yarn.
