wee Liesl Beret
Also included with the Wee Liesl pattern.
Turn wee Liesl into a darling old-fashioned outfit with this little beret worked from the top down in the same feather and fan pattern as the cardigan. Beginning with an I-cord is an easy way to start from the centre out and creates a traditional stalk. Only one size is given due to the large repeat of the stitch pattern but could be adjusted by adjusting gauge or working a few more vertical repeats and binding off loosely.
Yarn
Fingering / 4ply weight yarn with good elasticity, wool or wool blends are ideal.
Shown in Fyberspates Scrumptious 4ply / Sport (55% Wool / 45% Silk, 400yds / 365m, 3.53oz / 100g)
105yds / 95m
Gauge
24 sts and 34 rows = 4” / 10cm in feather and fan pattern in the round, rows 29–32.
Needles
US 5 / 3.75mm dpns or circulars for your preferred method of working small circumferences in the rnd.
Sizing
Finished band circumference 16” / 40.5cm; diameter 8” / 20cm. Fits approximately 3–12 months although baby heads vary a great deal
