I was listening to the radio when designing this pattern and the song We Care A Lot by Faith No More came on. Whilst this style of music may not be everyone’s cup of tea, the words ‘We Care A Lot’ summed up exactly how I was feeling and why I was creating this design in the first place.

There is a suggested pattern price of £3 with an optional discount code “ThankYou” to enable you to get this pattern for free. I wanted the pattern to be freely available to those who need it yet at the same time I’d love to raise funds for an amazing charity.

I usually volunteer on a regular basis at my local Mind branch helping to run a knitting group but as I’m currently unable to do so right now, for any full price pattern sales made I will be donating the entire £3 to Mind (I will take care of the Ravelry and paypal fees myself).

There are two options included in the pattern for anyone needing to wear a protective mask and protect the skin behind their ears.

The headband can be worn with the buttons at the front as a regular headband but when the buttons are worn at the back, they are perfect for hooking a mask on to.

The mask helper is designed to be used for attaching a mask when you don’t want to wear a headband.

The buttons shown in the pattern photo are large but smaller buttons can be used. 20mm buttons work well
