Wavy Brioche cowl
Basic brioche stitches circle around to create a striking cowl.
Worked in the round, a clever technique makes every round a knitwise round.
Add a twist in the cast-on for an infinity cowl that, when wrapped double, untwists to lie smooth showing only the right side of the fabric.
You will love knitting this cushy cowl!
Size of finished cowl: 9-10” deep by 50” around, or 25” when wrapped double as shown here.
Yarn: Any Sunday Knits 3 ply (sport-weight) yarn:
1 skein foreground color, 1 skein background color. Shown in Angelic bone with Brigadoon centro.
Substitute any sport weight yarn: 220 yds each foreground and background colors.
Gauge: One 30-stitch pattern rep = 5.5” in pattern stitch, and a 16-round rep = 3.5”.
Needles & notions: Circular needles size US5 (3.75 mm), size US4 (3.5 mm), tapestry needle, stitch markers. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Techniques used: Brioche stitch, brioche increases and decreases, tubular cast on, Italian sewn (tubular) bind off. All techniques are explained.
Pattern includes: Written instructions, stitch pattern in both written and charted formats, glossary, links.
