This is available here as a standalone pattern, but it comes free to knitters who attend my class, “Knit One Below.”

I have some knitting friends who are a little obsessive about reversible scarves—this design is for them! It combines garter stitch with fisherman’s rib, and creates a wonderfully tailored scarf that would appeal to all sorts of people. Knitting into the row below is not a difficult technique, so this is a good project for relatively new knitters looking to expand their repertoire, or for more experienced knitters looking for an easy, relaxing project to work on.

This is an easy project. The techniques you will need to know, or learn, to complete this project are:

  • cast on and bind off;
  • knit;
  • knit one below (k1b).

With the first sawmill at Walter’s Falls established in 1854, the town remains the home of Hallman Lumber and Sawmill. Just above the falls themselves, The Falls Inn has become a popular wedding venue.
