Versailles Scarf & Stole
Versailles is available for free at Crochet Uncut. I have had complaints that the pdf function for that page loses some of the text so I’m also providing a pdf for download.
Versailles is a delicate lace scarf inspired by architecture and a co-workers’ penchant for cute scarves. This is a great scarf for crocheting up a single skein of sock yarn in a semi-solid colorway.
You can also use one color for the first half and another color for the second half for a unique effect.
Now available with laceweight stole instructions as well.
Hook Size:
If you tend to have problems with your base chain being too tight, please go up at least one hook size for your base chain.
Blocking:
I recommend pinning out the center of the scarf as far as the base chain will stretch (as this will likely be the tightest point in your crochet) and then pinning out the rest of the scarf to that width, blocking the rest lengthwise.
If you pin lengthwise first your scarf/stole will be longer, but may not reach the stated width. This pattern grows considerably with blocking.
Regular size was 7.5” x 5’ before blocking. Skinny size was 5” x 5’ before blocking. Stole size was 18” x 5.5’ before blocking
