Valeska Top
This lightweight, short-sleeved lace top is knit seamlessly from the top down, featuring a delicate repeating lace motif that adds texture and visual interest. Designed with a flattering deep V-neckline, the garment includes a double-knit buttonband for a clean, structured edge. The top is constructed with minimal shaping for a relaxed fit, and finished with two i-cord ties at the front for adjustable closure and a feminine touch. The sleeves are picked up and worked in the round after the body is complete, and the overall length is slightly cropped, making it perfect for layering in warmer weather. Ideal for intermediate knitters, this project combines lacework, double knitting, and i-cord techniques for a polished, elegant result.
Note: there pattern includes instructions on how to ad buttons instead of ties if so desired.

Notes on Sizing
There are 12cm (4.7in) of positive ease incorporated into the fit of the tie top. The Bust Circumference shown is for the finished garment. Measure your bust circumference and add 12cm (4.7in) to this measurement to determine what size you should knit. The finished garment length measurements are given as guidelines. Try the top on to make sure the body and sleeve length are to your liking before binding off. You can always add an extra couple of rows/rounds for a longer fit.
Notes on Construction
An intricate lace top knit from the top down with no seaming. The back panel is knit first with increases to create the shoulder slope then straight to the armhole. These stitches are left live and we turn the work to pick up stitches from the sloped edge to create the shoulders. Once both the shoulders and the neck have been formed, we continue to knit the piece flat until we have achieved the same depth to the armhole on the front as we have on the back. We then join front and back to continue knitting the body. The sleeves are picked up from the body and knit in the round. Finally using a tubular cast-on, a double knit buttonband is knit and joined to the front opening and icord ties are knit directly onto the button band.
