Uhuru Sweater
UHURU
The peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, also means freedom in Swahili
Little peaks on the cuffs and a mountain standing on its top on the back. That’s my Uhuru, freedom. I’m free to express myself and chase my happiness by creating something unique with my own hands.
Uhuru Sweater is a modern and contemporary mohair sweater that has relaxed but modern look. It’s soft, warm and takes you in its arms to keep you warm and safe.
The sweater is worked from the top to down seamlessly and holding two strands, merino single and silk mohair, together. With large needles the garment knits up really fast, almost by itself.
The most interesting look you get if you use hand-dyed yarn on both bases. If you want more solid look, use hand-dyed merino and solid silk mohair yarn.
Ps. If you don’t like mohair, you can use any yarn that goes nicely on gauge.
