Searching through vintage ski-sweater photographs, I was charmed by the idea of a little colorwork on the edge of a garment giving way to one-color knitting using a deceptively simple two-color pattern. Each round uses two stitches of one color paired with a single stitch of the other color. Thus: Two to One. Both accessories are seamless and begin with a small amount of ribbing to prevent curling. The cowl ends with more ribbing in the second color. The yarn glides soft and smooth across the needles, and the yak fibers will make you want to cuddle it against your face as you knit. Thankfully, the patterns work up fast, so you’ll be wearing them before you know it!

Four page PDF includes both the hat and cowl shown.
