Twisted Pentangle
This cabled hat can be worn as a beanie straight off the needles, or can be blocked into the traditional tam or beret shape. The five wedges form a convoluted and abstracted star on the crown.
The sample was worked in a discontinued yarn, but any smooth solid-colored DK weight yarn would work fine.
The ribbed brim finishes to approx 19” unstretched.
2026 pattern update adds written instructions in addition to charts, so people can chose whichever they prefer.
