Turtle dove
Description
A turtle dove pattern made for enjoying all year long, but especially during the winter holidays.
Use chenille yarn for life-sized turtle doves or use thinner yarn to make adorable Christmas tree decorations that you will cherish for years to come.
There are options for different body parts of this turtle dove pattern: body, tail, beak, optional flap for turning it into a finger puppet.
Size
When using the recommended yarn, the finished piece will measure about 20-24 cm (8-9″) from the tip of the head to the end of the tail, about 10 cm (4”) across the widest part of the body, about 10 cm (4”) in height.
If you want to make the bird larger, use blanket yarn and a suitable hook. For smaller versions, use regular DK weight or use sock weight yarn for an even smaller version, suitable for a brooch.
Skill level
Intermediate – you have shaping and sewing of elements.
