Turbie-Twist Headband
This headband can be worked in sport, worsted or aran weight yarns. Check the linked project pages for examples worked in different yarn weights.
This headband has a small amount of cable-work and is perfect for knitters who want to learn to cable. Detailed written and charted instructions are provided for the center twist cable. This project works up in 3-5 hours.
The directions explain how to create a custom fit for any size head. The back of the headband has a two-button closure.
Equipment needed:
US size 6 (metric 4 mm) knitting needles for sport, or US size 8 (metric 5 mm) for worsted/aran.
cable needle
crochet hook (for weaving in 2 ends)
sewing needle and thread matching the color of the yarn.
Materials:
100 yards of Sport-weight yarn or 80 yards of worsted or aran.
Two 3/4 inch (2 cm) buttons
