This sweater is inspired by a garden at a historic home I visited this summer. A white arch covered with leafy trellises stood at the entrance to the garden. I replicated the arching leaves on the front, with the upper back and sleeves in the same leaf motif. Subtle waist shaping is incorporated at the junctions of the stockinette stitch and lace leaf patterns. The alpaca-blend yarn allows the eyelets to open up and the double decreases to pop. Due to the high contrast between the lace and stockinette sections, this sweater will shine in a wide range of colors.
