Toy Pelican
A toy pelican with a beak full of fish!
His beak shuts to store his fish safely.
Knitted flat on 2 needles, the pattern includes instructions for 3 different fish (for a varied diet).
The sample is made in 8 ply/DK yarn but you could use worsted or 12 ply and make a bigger toy.
It takes approx. these amounts to make this toy:
white 8 ply/DK yarn x 60 gms
pale pink 8 ply/DK yarn x 20 gms
black 8 ply/DK x 35 gms
grey 8 ply/DK x 10 gms
small amount yellow 8 ply/DK
small amounts of yellow, grey, orange, black, white 8 ply/DK yarn for fish (optional – choose any colours you like)
You also need 4 chenille sticks to stiffen his beak, 1 cm / 1/2” triangle of velcro, lockable stitch markers.
