Toy in Pocket Seamless Cardi
A little buttoned cardigan made in one piece, to fit 6 months to 4 years – with a pocket for a teddy or a toy owl.
Body is knit flat, with sleeves in the round – no sewing except for the pocket and toys.
Suitable for adventurous beginners and intermediate knitters.
Stitches required are knit, purl, yo, kfb, pfb, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, ssp.
Instructions given for: neat edges, simple buttonholes, how to pick up stitches and work a 3 needle cast off /bind off – plenty of photos and complete instructions.
Note: While the cardi is quite a simple knit, the teddy has a few tricky rows where stitches are cramped – so not recommended for total beginners.
The toy owl is simpler, for those who aren’t confident .
Yarn used is a DK / 8 ply of between 85–100m / 93–110yds per 50gms
Cardi without a toy takes an average meterage / yardage for the 4 sizes: 270 / 295; 330 / 360; 410 / 450; 530 / 575
Buttons needed: 4; 5; 6; 7
Teddy takes 25gms, 46m / 51yds; Owl 16gms, 30m / 33yds
