Touch of Fluff
NOTE from the designer: I uploaded the Tangled version of the pattern (with their permission) as a free Ravelry download on December 19, 2013. If it does not work, please let me know via PM.
Touch of Fluff are light mitts worked in a mohair-silk blend at a loose gauge. They are perfect for those times you are reading, writing or crafting indoors and your hands get chilly. This simple design showcases three stretchy stitch patterns: foundation single crochet, alternating front-post and back-post double crochet ribbing and a linked shell-stitch pattern. You can make a pair in no time, and working with the lace weight mohair blend on a relatively large hook is also a great exercise in maintaining a lighter tension.
The pattern is given in written instruction, with a chart included at the end that gives a visual representation of the stitch patterns, increases, decreases and thumb-hole shaping.
There are two main stitch patterns.
Gauge for the cuff pattern of alternating post-stitch ribbing is:
11 sts and 8 rows = 4 inches
Gauge for the main linked shell stitch pattern is:
5 patt reps and 6 rows = 4”
Notions needed:
- Crochet hook, size I (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
- Stitch marker (optional)
- Tapestry needle
