Tilluke
Tilluke is a collage of different Estonian stitch patterns and techniques to create a cute mini shawl. The name means tiny in Estonian, as it’s a cute shawl to wrap around your neck or head as a headscarf or head band. It brings together some of my favourite techniques from western Estonian including Kihnu vits knitted braid from Kihnu island, Roosimine Estonian inlay from Tõstamaa and a gathered stitch used in Estonian lace shawls from Haapsalu. This sweet wearable collage is an engaging knit to try new techniques while adding some fun to any outfit.
PATTERN NOTES
This mini triangular shawl is knit from tip to tip with sections of Roosimine Estonian inlay, knitted braids and a textured gathered stitch.
The shawl has i-cord edges and bind-off for a clean finish. The start of the shawl begins with a crochet provisional cast-on in waste yarn to create an i-cord point or modified garter tab.
