Tige Cardigan
This beautiful stitch pattern is composed of mixed panels with different elements including lace, twist stitches and cables. Shirley thought the panel combination could be most elegantly shown on a cropped jacket. She used a double-breasted silhouette and carried the smoother motif that resembles a cornstalk up into the large collar. The more complex but visually stimulating cable and twist stitch panel was placed in the center front and center back. Since the cornstalk type pattern repeats across the garment and is used as an all-over pattern for the collar, Shirley named the jacket Tige. In French, Tige de Blé means cornstalk.
