Tiana "Dreams Do Come True" Tank
Grounded, hardworking, and motivated, Tiana from Disney’s 2009 film The Princess and the Frog broke ground as the first African American Disney princess. Inspired by her father’s strong work ethic and loving devotion to his family, Tiana works hard every day at her job as a waitress so she can save up enough money to own her own restaurant. Her dreams encounter a slight speed bump when she kisses an enchanted prince and is turned into a frog. Featuring Tony Award®-winner Anika Noni Rose as the voice of Tiana and set in New Orleans during the Roaring Twenties, the film featured a stunning soundtrack influenced by jazz, zydeco, gospel, and blues, all but one written by New Orleans native Randy Newman.
Inspired by the water lily petals of Tiana’s fairy-tale wedding dress, this romantic peplum top will make you feel like a princess! Knit from the bottom up starting with the peplum worked flat, the peplum is joined in the round with an overlap to draw in and accentuate the waist. An eyelet-patterned bodice with cables creates a faux panel and is worked through the body until the armhole shaping. The top is then worked flat to create the armholes, neckline shaping, and straps. Finish with a crochet belt as shown or use a pretty trim or ribbon and get ready to live your dreams of knitwear perfection!
