Theresa
by Susan Hanlon
Looking for a way to use up a half skein of laceweight yarn left over from a shawl, I started playing with stitches from the Encyclopedia of Needlework, a Victorian guide to needlework that is still in print today. The lace stitch I found consists of a pattern row followed by a plain knit row and is completely reversible, which makes it ideal for a scarf. The scarf is named for Thérèse de Dillmont, the original author of the Encyclopedia of Needlework.
