The Woods are Lovely, Dark and Deep
There’s something really satisfying to me about creating these scarves, I don’t chart it all out at once, instead I just go a couple inches at a time, knit what I’ve drawn, and then draw a couple inches more. The result is an ever changing pattern that gently flows from one theme to another. Then once it seems long enough, I stop. (which for me is over 6 foot so feel free stop when you’re content with the length)
A note about gauge:
People tend to double knit considerably looser than they do otherwise. Rather than make a gauge swatch, I recommend just starting the project, after 2 inches or so, take a good look at it, play with the fabric a little, and adjust your needle size as necessary.
