The Tartan Muffler is an adjustable cowl made using worsted weight yarn in 2 colors (or more depending on how well you enjoy colorwork ) so it is nice and cozy and gives a beautiful tartan/plaid pattern.

Materials
Hook: I – 5.5 mm; H – 5 mm (ribbing)
Yarn: 4 weight/worsted; I used Malabrigo Rios in the colorways Cucumber and Gris
Yardage: 576m/630yd; I used 420 yd of Cucumber (Color A) and 210 of Gris (Color B)

This was the amount of yarn needed to complete the pattern with 5 repeats; you will need to adjust yardage based on how long or short you want your infinity scarf to be. I used 84 yds of Cucumber and 42 yds of Gris per repeat

Gauge
16 st. (horizontal) x 23 st. (vertical) rounds for 4 inch BLOCKED square using csc.

Stitches used in this project
ss- slip stitch
ch- chain
sc- single crochet
csc- center single crochet- stitches are worked as a normal sc, but instead of inserting your hook through the top loops, you will insert it in the middle of the “V” formed at the base of the stitch.

Notes
• This pattern is worked in the round, do not turn at the end of rounds.
• Keep your tension loose, center single crochet stitches are very difficult to make if the stitches on the previous round are too tight.
• The colorwork section is worked in tapestry crochet. You will work with both strands of yarn along the round, carrying the non-primary color parallel to the top of the previous round as you crochet with the primary one, alternating when you complete each section. In your last csc of each color, when you have 2 loops left on the hook, pull through with the new color so the color transitions are seamless.
