Yarn Alternatives:
You can use any DK or aran-weight yarn to achieve a similar effect. If you want to avoid the stiffening process, use raffia or t-shirt yarns, but be aware you may need a different hook size and the final measurements will differ from the sample featured. Sample is also shown in Caron Simply Soft, White 9701, and James C. Brett, Bubbalicious.
Tension
Exact tension is not critical for this design.
Measurements
Finished bag measures 23.5 x 16 x 4cm/9 1/4 x 6 1/4 x 1 1/2in. Strap is 48 x 5cm/19 x 2in.
The body of the bag is worked in one piece with the strap added after blocking and stiffening the body.
