The Yarn Girls' Guide to Knits for Older Kids

The Juror
Pattern description
Lisa’s eight-year-old niece, Taylor, had been hounding her ot knit her a sweater with a stripe. But Lisa had been very busy with work and other obligations. She came in to see us one day, looking rundown and tired. With a jury duty summons in her hand and a smile on her face, she proclaimed, “I will finally have some time to sit down and knit Taylor’s sweater.” She knew it needed to have a stripe, per Taylor’s request, but she wanted it to be a little different. So we came up with the idea of a polo collar with a zipper. It is very easy to slip on and off and it has a fun rugged look. And after three days, Lisa was finished not only with the sweater but with her civic responsibility as well.
Yarn is worked double throughout the sweater--this means you should hold 2 strands of yarn together as though they are 1.
