The Great Missowski
The Great Missowski is available as an individual pdf or as part of the Missowski Collection, which includes The Missowski Cowl and Missowski Slouchy. If you previously purchased The Great Missowski or Missowski Slouchy, the price of the collection will be discounted by the amount of your previous purchase.
The Great Missowski began with my desire to design a sweater with the comfy look and feel of Jeff Bridges’ Cowichan sweater from the Big Lebowski. As the design grew in my mind, it began to have a sophistication and striping pattern that reminded me much more of Missoni, however. In its final form, this is my interpretation of what a “Dudess” would look like if her knitwear was created by an Italian design house. Scarily, just my style.
The pattern employs a simple slipped stitch pattern of 4 stitches and 4 rows to create the look of chevrons. Instructions are given for both standard length and extra long sleeves to allow for customization, and there are tips for shortening the body as well. I’ve provided detailed posts on getting the fit just right and on choosing alternate colorways.

construction
The body is worked flat in one piece to the armholes, where it is split into two fronts and a back, which are worked separately. The raglan sleeves are worked flat and then seamed to the body. Stitches are picked up along the fronts and neck to form the shawl collar, which is shaped with short rows.
