The Dragon’s Tale
There is an introductory 20% discount until Aug 21 midnight UTC. Enter the code dragons at checkout.
The Dragon’s Tale can be a simple scarf, or a fierce protector of the neck!
This is the updated version, with new charts and a choice of round or flat head. (The original from 2014 with old charts and flat-only head can still be found here, and has a German translation and 250 projects for inspiration.)
The Dragon’s Tale is worked as a long, narrow crescent, or well-fed serpent shape, with head & tail to drape possessively around your person and peer imperiously at strangers, or flick its tail in warning if someone gets too close…
The design uses minimal lacework - each row has a single increase and decrease in each row of the border, creating the rippling, sinuous edge with an integrated I cord border.
The Dragon’s Head is shaped by cables, and can be worked either flat (as in the rest of the scarf) or in the round like a sock (or sock puppet).
The scarf can be worked entirely from the written pattern or from charts with notes.
Length and width are adaptable.
Suitable for DK to Aran weight, by adjusting needle size to suit your yarn and individual tension.
The companion shawl version, Dragonflight, uses a widened version of the scaly border, on a deeper shawl, with neat little wingtips at both ends, and is suitable for fingering up to DK. Buy both patterns at once and get the second one half price. :)

Some wonderful glass dragon eyes can be found here on Etsy, if you happen to be on the hunt for some.
