This pattern for a cute drop-stitch sweater is from a Fleisher’s ad in the April 1921 issue of Ladies Home Journal. The advertisement also appears in For the Love of Knitting.

From the pattern: “A day and a half--and this lovely sweater is finished!”

“Only 8 balls of Fleisher’s Shetland Floss and less than two days’ time--that’s all you need to make this delightful summer sweater. A Paris model with just that ‘something’ in style which the French call chic. Think of it--so charming a sweater, yet so economical of both time and yarn! Why not get the yarn today?”

Note on yardage:
It is unknown what the yardage of Fleisher’s Shetland Floss was, however, other brands of Shetland Floss in that period seem to have typically included roughly 150 - 160 yards to a 1 ounce skein. This gives us a yardage estimate of 1200-1300 yards for this sweater. However, the sweater is probably quite small.

Note on gauge:
The pattern does not give gauge, but the waistband, which is knitted sideways, is 25 stitches. Assuming that is about 5 inches wide, that is a gauge of 5 sts/inch or 20 sts/4 inches. If the waistband is 4 inches wide, the gauge is a little over 6 sts/inch. The likely gauge is somewhere in that range.
