The Burrow Blanket
This blanket was inspired by my Burrow Wrap design. As I was knitting that wrap, I knew that it would make a wonderful blanket.
I really wanted this blanket to be super squishy, so I used 3 strands of fingering weight yarn held together. The advantage of this technique is that you can create a beautiful watercolour like effect as you change yarn.
The tripled yarn also means that it knits up really quickly.
I used lots of leftovers along with some mini skeins, so it makes a great stashbusting project. It’s also a perfect design for all of those advent mini skeins that we all love to hoard !
The pattern contains 2 sizes but can be easily customised to your own requirements. The baby blanket measures 36 inches x 26 inches and the afghan measures 52 inches x 38 inches.
The baby blanket requires approximately 600g of fingering weight yarn and the throw/afghan requires approximately 1050g of yarn.
I used leftovers and mini skeins that weighed between 10g and 40g each.
The pattern contains detailed instructions, along with 3 video tutorials for specific techniques.
This is the ultimate comfort knit, so gather all of those beautiful yarns and let’s cast on !
