This lightweight lace sweater is worked from the bottom up in the round. The hem is cast on with smaller needles, the body is knit with the larger needles. The pattern calls for 4 colors, but this top could be knit with one or many, playing around with stripe thickness for fun!I have included in the pattern how many rounds of each color I worked for the sample, but feel free to make up your own stripe pattern as you knit this piece! The front and back are separated at the underarm and then worked flat, separately. The back is worked first, working short rows to shape the shoulders, after which stitches are bound off the the back neck and the back shoulder stitches are placed on hold for three needle bind off. The front is picked up and worked flat, stitches are bound off for the front neck, then the left and right fronts are worked flat separately, shaping the front neck opening with decreases along the neck edge. Short rows are worked on each front as well to shape the shoulders, then the shoulders are seamed with three needle bind off technique. Stitches for the armhole openings and collar are picked up and worked in the round.
