Tangerine Dream scarf
Description
The Tangerine Dream scarf is a very soft small Cashmere scarf that can be adapted to any soft yarns and colour combinations. You can either choose to combine two colours as in my orange / beige version or opt for a simple neutral tone throughout the scarf. Cashmere is a beautiful choice since this scarf is so close to the neck, and it makes it a delicate accessory to accompany any office or casual wear, such as blouses or simple V-neck sweaters.
By following the pattern, you will have a scarf measuring approximately 150 x 18 cm (59 x 7”), but you can easily adapt it by adjusting the number of repeats of each pattern block, making it thus longer or shorter.
Needle size & materials:
3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, 40 cm (16”) in length
tapestry needle
SIZE
One size: 150 x 18 cm (59 x 7”)
TENSION/ GAUGE:
10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) = 26-28 sts x 30-34 rows in stockinette stitch on 3.5 mm (US 4) needle
Since I used two different lace yarns for this pattern, the indicated gauge encompasses a wider range and does not give an exact indication. If you are combining different Cashmere Lace yarns, make sure to test out whether you will need to use them held double or single. In this case, the Cashmere Lace was held double, whereas the Cashmere Me was knit using one strand only.
Preferably swatch the yarn beforehand in order to adjust the needle size, if needed, for the best outcome, especially in regards to the design.
YARN:
2 threads lace weight yarn held together (depending on weight)
Yarn usage:
MC – orange: Gepard Garn Cashmere Lace (colour 325) / 100% cashmere (25 gr / 350 m) – 1 skein (300 meters / 330 yds)
This yarn is held double.
CC – off white: Gepard Garn Cashmere Me (colour 142) / 100% cashmere (25 gr / 180 m) – 2 skeins (200 meters / 220 yds)
This yarn is worked with a single strand only
You can easily use the same weight for the CC as for the MC, making sure to hold the yarn double in that case.
