Worked in one piece from the bottom up, this is more than just another cowl. Cables and ribbing add texture, this is an accessory that is easy to customize with your color choice. An alternate lace patterned chart is included if you want to use lace instead, or even alternate lace and cable panels.
Begin at the bottom edge and work back and forth to the neck, adding the shaping as you go. Pick up stitches for each side of the button band and knit them back and forth as well.
To join for the neck, overlap the button bands and pick up stitches through both layers. Once you have about half of the collar made, divide the stitches, adding some extra so that you can layer the opening edges.
