The colorwork pattern on this bold pillow reminds me of carvings in old French churches and heraldic emblems. Although brighter colors are featured here, using a muted palette of black and ecru or going with tweedy cement shades would be even more reminiscent of a carving in an ancient building. The back of the pillow is worked in simple rectangles of color, giving you a chance to rest from reading the chart.
