Sweet Dreams socks are ideal for lounging or sleeping, or just showing off. These gorgeous socks are knitted in sock yarns with added silk for luxury or angora for cosiness. They are knitted from the top down using stitches chosen to show off a self-striping yarn, although they also look lovely in a single colour. You start with a tubular cast-on, which creates a lovely rolled edge to your rib. Then you work a garter stitch rib cuff followed by the leg in a crossed slip stitch pattern. Next you work a heel flap in a simple slip stitch pattern, before knitting the rest of the foot. Finally you finish your Sweet Dreams socks with a easy wedge toe.

The pattern for Sweet Dreams socks is available to purchase here as a digital pdf download, or as a printed booklet (together with a free Ravelry download code) from the Being Knitterly webstore.

Other details

This pattern is available in two versions: there’s one written for those who knit left-handed as well as the standard one for those who knit right-handed.

Most of you knit right-handed, that is, your stitches move from the left to right needle as you knit: choose “knitting right-handed”.

Some of you knit left-handed, that is, your stitches move from the right to left needle as you knit: choose “knitting left-handed”.

If you are a left-handed knitter who knits right-handed, that is your stitches move from the left to right needle, you should choose “knitting right-handed”.
