Sometimes we all crave a bit of lace! Here is a shawl that will satisfy all your lace desires. The main lace pattern is worked from side to side so you are only working 47 stitches at a time for the majority of the work. After the main body is complete, the bottom edging is picked up along the row ends and is worked in a new lace chart while new colors are introduced. After the bottom edging is complete, the top edging is worked in the final contrast color.

This pattern has full written chart rows in addition to a chart. You do not need to know how to read charts to complete this pattern! Choose to follow the written rows or the chart rows, whatever you prefer.

Yarn: Sock weight yarn in 4 colors: 450 yards/415 meters of Main Color, and 90 yards/85 meters each, of 3 different Contrast Colors.
Sample shown in Dandelions & Daisies SW merino/nylon blend, colorway Wild Rose set.

Needles: Size US 5/3.75 mm straight (optional) and circular needle with a long (40”/100 cm) cable.
Gauge: 20 – 22 sts and 28 – 30 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch.
Notions: 13 regular stitch markers, 1 locking stitch marker, blocking wires, mat, and t-pins.
Techniques: Lace stitches, reading a chart, picking up stitches, and stretchy bind-off.
