Sweater-dress Greeting Card
I have seen lots of pretty cards with knitted pieces on the covers, and on the occasion of a very special birthday for a very special friend who knits, I thought I’d make one of my own for her.
She’s a lover of lavender, so I used some yarn I had leftover in that color--Ariosa (merino/cashmere) from Classic Elite. It is listed as a bulky; but yarn weight/gauge isn’t important for this project. I would simply suggest that if you use a lighter-weight dk or sock yarn, simply scale down your card size to, say, 3x4” to better match the finished scale of your sweater-dress. (My sweater-dress on size 4/3.5mm needles finished at 3” tall and 2 1/2” wide.)
Besides your favorite stash yarn and knitting needles, you’ll need card stock, 3 small beads, invisible thread, embroidery needle, gluestick and a black felt-tip marker.
