This is a beginner friendly pattern that uses basic stitches (magic ring, single crochet, increase, decrease, sl st, chains and skipping stitches).

I do indent the puppies eyes and there are instructions for that. I also embroider accents on the eyes and eyebrows.

I’ve made two puppies so far- one with a 4 mm hook (as in this pattern) and one with a 5 mm hook. Using a 4 mm hook, the puppy is 7 inches tall and using the 5 mm hook, the puppy is about 7.5 inches tall.

When using the 5 mm hook, I used a full skein of the Ivory and less than one skein of the Taupe. When using the 4 mm hook, I used less than a skein of each color.
