Super Mittens
Pattern description from Weekend Knitting: “Knitted in a loosely twisted, bulky merino yarn, these mittens are super-soft, warm, and comfortable. They are knitted completely in a Stockinette Stitch with a long cuff section that keeps them in place without the usual ribbing. The optional crocheted chain that links the two mittens to each other in a classic feature on children’s mittens, but is a surprise - I think a delightful and practical one - as shown here in an adult size.”
Finished Measurements: To fit child’s M/L (woman’s S/M, woman’s L/man’s S, man’s M/L). Finished hand circumference 6.25 (7.5, 8, 8.5)“
Yarn: Morehouse merino Bulky (100% Merino wool; 102 yards / 4 oz). 1 skein. Shown in book in orange in size woman’s S/M and in purple in size woman’s L/man’s S.
Needles:
- One set of five double-pointed needles (dpn) size US 10.5 (6.5 mm).
- One set of five smaller dpn, size US 9 (5.5 mm) or US 10 (6 mm), for tip of both thumb and hand (optional).
