This wave-shaped lace shawl is interesting to knit and a great conversation starter. The lace pattern is reminiscent of waves or flames or leaves. Cable and coin edges plus a beaded picot bind off frame an interesting lace pattern that is beautiful in gradients or solids. A great two-skein project, this shawl is easily customizable with a change of yardage--knit until it’s the desired size or the yarn runs out!

One size:
Overall wave shaped shawl is 57” wingspan x 28” deep (145 x 70cm) with 38” (95 cm) on straight (coin) side, 38” (95 cm) inside curve, and 79” (200 cm) outside curve; size is customizable based on yardage.

Yarn: Fingering weight (400-460 yds / 100 g), 920 yds

Gauge and Needles:
21 sts & 34 rows = 4” / 10 cm in lace pattern after blocking using US 1-5 (2.5‑3.75mm) or size needed to get gauge.
Gauge is not critical for this project; a different gauge will yield a different size and have different yarn requirements.

Notions:
110 size 3 round beads and tiny crochet hook for placing beads (if substituting, bead should slide freely on yarn held doubled), cable needle, stitch markers (one removable), stitch holder, crochet hook (optional, for provisional cast on)
