Sunburst circle bag
Make your own summer bag with this Sunburst Circle Bag crochet pattern, featuring a flap and fastening and raised sunburst design.
I love the circle bag and basket bag trend but couldn’t find one with a closing and fastening, so I designed one! It’s easy to crochet and only uses one ball of yarn so is quick and affordable too.
You can choose from two yarn options - jute twine for a rustic look and strong construction or raffia, which has more of a shine and works up slightly smaller, with some stretch to it. Gauge and sizes for both are included with the pattern as I couldn’t pick a favourite!
It’s the perfect finishing touch to any summer outfit.
Skill level: Basic, you will need to know chain, slip stitches and treble crochet (US double crochet) stitches.
Materials needed:
5mm hook and jute twine x 1 250m ball OR 4.5mm hook – Ra ra raffia yarn in Desert Palm (250m) x 1 ball
Attachable bag strap
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Scissors
Finished size:
If using jute twine: diameter approx. 32cm x 5.5cm deep.
If using Ra-ra Raffia: diameter approx. 27cm x 5cm deep.
Pattern includes: Full written instructions in both UK and US terms and step-by-step photographs. Note: you will need to know how to complete chain, slip stitches and treble crochet (US double crochet) stitches.
