The Summer Solstice takes place mid-June, which is a perfect time to be flaunting this lightweight top. Knit in a blend of linen and soft merino, the lace fabric at the yoke creates a light airy fabric perfect for Spring and Summer.
This pullover has been worked top down in the round and begins with a few short rows to elevate the back neck. The simple lace pattern is worked, followed with stockinette down to the underarms, at which point the sleeve stitches are placed on hold. Lace stitches are placed at the hem and sleeve cuffs. The lace pattern stitches instructions are provided in both chart and written formats.
Size: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9).

Sample shown is Size 3 and has 4”/ 10 cm of positive ease.
Suggested ease is 4” through 6”/15 cm.
Techniques to know: Simple lace, German short rows, working in the round, increasing/decreasing, casting on in the middle of a row (backward loop method). (tutorial links provided)
Yarn:
Approx 670 (720, 770, 845, 920), (1000, 1090, 1185, 1285) yds/ meters of fingering, sport or dk weight yarn

Cape May Fiber Merlinen (83.3% superwash merino, 16.7% linen) in Summer Fig 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) (3, 3, 4, 4) 100g / 410 yd skeins

Gauge:
20 sts, 28 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in st st blocked
Needles:
You will need a 16”/ 40.5 cm circular, a 24”/ 61 cm or longer circular and a set of double pointed needles (or preferred needles for working a small circumference in the round) in the following sizes:
Main needle: US Size 6 (4 mm) or size needle to obtain gauge.
Edging needle: US Size 5 (3.75 mm) or needle one size smaller than main needle.
Notions: Removable stitch markers (the safety pin type), stitch holders or scrap yarn.
