*CandyCane* is worked in one piece, alternating between stripes in stockinette stitch, knitted with double thread, and stripes with a romantical lace pattern, knitted with single thread. The lacy edging is knitted with single thread directly to both narrow ends – no sewing or grafting required – and picks up the pattern from the main part.

The pattern is fully charted!

Die Stola *CandyCane* (Zuckerstange) wird an einem Stück quer gestrickt. Am Schluss werden die Spitzen am Anfang und am Ende der Stola direkt in die Anschlags- bzw. Abkettreihe angestrickt.

Der Zuckerstangeneffekt (kräftige Farbe im glatt re Teil, hauchzarte Farbe in den Laceteilen und -spitze) entsteht durch das abwechselnde Verstricken des Cobwebgarnes mit 1 bzw. 2 Fäden. (Erklärung dazu in der Anleitung enthalten).
