The “Starlett” Socks are all-over colorwork socks with contrasting heel, cuff and toe. They are knitted from top to bottom. This means that the cuff is cast on first using the Tubular Cast-on Method and the toe is finished off at the end using the Kitchener Stitch Method. The characteristic Starlett motif adorns the leg of the socks and is complemented by a repeating colorwork wave pattern for the entire sock.

The heel is constructed with a simple short row method using ssk/ k2tog and picking up the stitches again later out of these decreases. This technique creates an interesting line at the sides of the heel. I call this way of knitting the heel my “Lazy Reversible Heel” and it is my personal go-to way to knit the heel for any socks.

This pattern is written for magic loop knitting. But for an experienced sock knitter, it would be easy to adapt it to DPNs as well.
It provides a reverse colorwork chart in addition to the original colorwork chart.
